A New Jersey mom boasted on Facebook that she was “so proud” of her son for “eliminating the cat population” — and was arrested herself for allegedly running over a pet.
“As he drives mom around and runs over 3 cats maybe people should keep [their] cats at [their] house and not on the street. So proud of him. Eliminating the car population,” Vasfije Cain posted on Facebook, according to Hopatcong police.
It’s not clear whether the son actually ran over any cats but cops this week collared Cain, 43, and charged her with hitting a domestic animal Aug. 22 and failing to report it.
Police didn’t say if the animal survived.
Cain’s Facebook page appeared to have been removed by Wednesday.
Hopatcong police didn’t immediately return a request for comment.
