Meghan Markle is using ‘divide and conquer tactic’ on Royal Family, her sister claims – The Sun

MEGHAN Markle’s sister has said that she has “blown a chance of the lifetime” by quitting the royals and criticised her for dragging Harry away from his family.

Samantha Markle said the Duchess of Sussex appeared to be operating a “divide and conquer” strategy, after rifts with the Markle clan – and now the Windsors.

Meghan, 38, has not spoken to her father, Hollywood lighting director Thomas Markle Sr, since her royal wedding to husband Prince Harry more than 18 months ago.

Thomas Sr broke his silence yesterday to tell US Weekly magazine: “I’ll just simply say I’m disappointed.”

But Samantha exclusively told The Sun: “At the beginning of this all I said that if she’ll do this to our family – she’ll do it to the royals. Now the rift between the Markles has become a royal rift.

“People were taking pot-shots at me for speaking up against Meghan, but I was just being honest. I’m not saying I told you so, but look at what has happened.

“Meghan has had the chance of a lifetime, that people all over the world would be proud to have, and she has blown it.

“Billions of people would want to be in her shoes and instead of honouring the chance she has got, she has desecrated it. In this Cinderella story, the shoe did not fit.”

ROYAL RIFT

Former actress Samantha, 55, speaking from her home in Florida, believes her half-sister Meghan – who shares dad Thomas Sr with her – should not take Harry away from his family.

And she blasted the duchess as a hypocrite for preaching one thing and doing another.

She told The Sun: “If Meghan was a Diana-like figure and a humanitarian, none of this would be occurring.

“She was in a position to do great things and become a force for change. But there was a lot of talk and not much action. Her actions in some respects have contradicted her words.

“Nothing warrants Harry being pulled away from his family. She appears to be deploying the tactic of divide and conquer. She should have stayed within the palace for Harry’s sake.

“Harry and William were best friends. Harry can obviously speak up for himself, but it doesn’t seem in his character to willingly cut off his family and friends of so many years.

“She has made her mark on the royal family – but as someone who had a short-lived spending-spree on the royal budget.”

Samantha also appealed to Meghan to fix her father’s “broken heart” while spending more time in North America.

She added: “It is very sad for my dad. He was an incredible dad and he was ghosted.

“She did a lot of malicious, public damage to our dad. Until she fixes dad’s broken heart and admits she was wrong, I would never make up with her. She can make a public apology.

“She’s persona non grata in my book. What she’s done to my dad is morally reprehensible.”
