Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left for Canada because of how good the chocolate is, diplomats joke – The Sun

CANADIAN diplomats have joked that chocolate was the secret behind Harry and Meghan's decision to move to their country.

The Sussexes visited The Canadian High Commission in Trafalgar Square the day before making their bombshell announcement last week.

They were treated to Nanaimo bars – a famous Canadian dessert which originates from Vancouver Island, where the Royal couple spent six weeks over Christmas.

Canadian diplomats joked that the chocolate treats convinced them to make the move permanent.

A source told The Sun: "They loved the chocolate – at the end of the night they even asked if they could take a plate of it home with them."

And speaking at a drinks reception on Monday night, the Canadian High Commissioner said: "I think it was their visit to Canada House last week that sealed the deal."
