Mayor de Blasio appears to spoof Trump’s return to White House video

The mayor just can’t let go of his quixotic presidential run.

Bill de Blasio on Tuesday released an apparent spoof of President Trump’s return to the White House with a hammy video of himself putting on a face mask outside City Hall.

Set to stirring orchestral music, the footage shows Hizzoner triumphantly holding up a surgical mask before slowly pulling on the straps over each ear.

He gives a salute — and then turns around, flings open a door and goes into City Hall.

“In New York City we wear our masks, proudly,” the 21-second clip was captioned.

The stagey video seemed to be an attempt at parody on the part of the mayor, who ran a failed campaign for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination last year.

It recalled the dramatic clip released by Trump on Twitter Monday night, which showed his arrival to the White House following his release from the hospital where he spent three days being treated for the coronavirus.

In that video, thunderous music played as a maskless Trump appeared on the South Portico and gave a salute while Marine One flew off.
