Man, 49, falls to his death from a flat window ‘while trying to escape from attackers who had broken into his home’

Police found the body of a man believed to have fallen from a height after investigating reports of a group trying to force their way into a flat yesterday.

Officers discovered the victim, 49, on the ground outside Denyer House in Highgate Road, Camden at approximately 9pm last night. 

He was rushed to hospital but died from his injuries shortly before midnight. 

Neighbours claimed they heard a disturbance and the man may have fallen from a third-floor window of the six-storey building, the Camden New Journal reported.

Police had been called to ‘reports of people forcing entry to a flat’ and officers established that a ‘disturbance’ had occurred before discovering the man lying fatally injured on the ground.   

There is a crime scene in place but no arrests have been made yet. 

The Homicide and Major Crime Command have been informed. 

In a statement the Metropolitan Police said: ‘Police were called on Thursday, 25 October at 21:05 hours to reports of people forcing entry to a flat in Denyer House, Highgate Road, NW5.

‘Officers attended and from initial enquiries established that a disturbance had taken place.

‘It then became apparent that a man had fallen from a height to the ground causing serious injuries.

‘The London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance were called. 

‘The victim, a 49-year-old man was taken to a north London hospital where he was pronounced dead at 23:56 hours.’ 

Officers say the man’s next of kin are in the process of being informed.
