Man, 50, stabbed to death at home is third knife murder victim in blood-soaked 48 hours in London

The latest victim died near the Old Kent Road in South East London hours after a 42-year-old man died in Waltham Forest, East London, and Britain's Got Talent singer Simonne Kerr was stabbed to death in Battersea.

London's most recent stabbing victim was found with wounds inside his home on Madron Street shortly after 2pm, sparking what is thought to be Scotland Yard's 92nd homicide investigation since the start of the year.

This evening cops arrested a 60-year-old man on suspicion of murder.

The latest stabbing attack in the capital also comes less than 24 hours after a teenage boy was left fighting for life after being knifed in Camberwell, South London.


A group of teens were seen running from a housing estate minutes before police swooped and arrested six teenage boys.

Simonne Kerr, 31, a nurse who starred as part of a the B Positive choir who reached the final of this year's BGT, was also stabbed to death at an address in Battersea on Wednesday afternoon.

A 40-year-old man appeared in court charged with her murder earlier today.

And a 42-year-old man died after being repeatedly stabbed at a house in Chingford, east London, in the early hours of this morning.

A 16-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder.



All the victims are aged between 15 and 16, with one in a critical condition and another in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Cops confirmed the remaining two didn't suffer serious injuries and are releasing a further update on the investigation this evening.

In response to yesterday's attack Superintendent Annmarie Cowley of Southwark police said the attacks were "beyond comprehension", adding: “What we can say for certain is if there needed to be an example of the utter senselessness of knife crime, then this is it."
