The mayor of a small Kentucky town used some choice words to tell his constituents about the urgent nature of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Listen up dips–ts and sensible people,” Walton, Kentucky, Mayor Gabe Brown wrote in a message on a community Facebook group on Monday.
“I might not put you at ease like the Governor does, but I don’t care,” Brown wrote.
“You need to realize that this is a serious ordeal. In fact, it’s a big fu–ing deal. Stay at home.”
Kentucky, as of Wednesday, reported 198 cases of the illness, according to Gov. Andy Beshear. Five people there have died from the illness.
Kenton County, one of the two counties where Walton lies, has been one of the heavier hit areas in Kentucky, with 11 cases of Wednesday, according to the Northern Kentucky Health Department.
Brown said in his post that, “I didn’t give you information to induce panic. I gave you information, so that you’d be informed.
“If you don’t like what I’m telling you, then go buy some toilet paper.”
The mayor repeatedly urged people to treat the outbreak seriously.
“If you don’t, then screw you (f#ck you is what I want to say, but I can’t),” he said.
