Hunt for missing former private schoolgirl in rural Oxfordshire as police 'concerned for her safety'

Flora Griffiths, 25, was last seen yesterday evening walking on the quaint High Street in Finstock where homes are worth an average of £500,000.

The small village is just a short drive from upmarket Chipping Norton — home to former Prime Minsiter David Cameron and celebs like Jeremy Clarkson.

The former private schoolgirl is passionate about nature and is known to enjoy walking through rural fields and footpaths.

Flora, described as around 5ft 6in tall with brown hair, vanished at around 7pm on Monday.

She was wearing light blue jeans and a grey woollen jumper with black ankle-high bookes and a red scarf, police said.

She is also known to visit the nearby village of Cornwell and other rural spots near Finstock, West Oxon.

Flora attended Chipping Norton School before being awarded an "environmental awareness scholarship" to attend £24k-a-year d’Overbroeck’s College.

After receiving her scholarship, which took 25 per cent off fees, she told the Oxford Mail: "This is a good way to make a difference, because at school you can get a lot more done with teachers helping you."

Sergeant Sarah Nash of Banbury station said: “We are appealing for the public’s help to locate Flora.

“We are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare and are urging anyone who believes they see her to get in touch.

“Also, if Flora sees this appeal we would encourage her to get in touch with police.”

Anyone who believes they see Flora is asked to call 999 quoting 43180330566.
