A luxury estate in The Hamptons once rented by Beyoncé and Jay-Z is being listed for a staggering $1 million a month, but it’s not even on the beach.
Ironically dubbed the ‘Sandcastle of Bridgehampton’, the rental sits on 11.5 acres of lush greenery in a desirable location ‘South of the Highway’, without a sand dune in sight.
Owned by Hamptons builder Joe Farrell and his wife Kristen, the luxury rental was snapped up by Beyoncé and Jay-Z back in 2012, who paid $400,000 to rent it.

The home on the 21,000 square-foot property boasts 11 bedrooms, 10 full and five half baths. It has ‘resort style’ amenities, including a double-lane bowling alley, a 60-foot pool with an underwater stereo, a 10-seat theater, a club area with a DJ booth and a full bar and wine room. It also has a gym, as well as a court for squash, racquetball, basketball and volleyball.
The outdoor area has its own kitchen, a sunken tennis court and a baseball field.
Joe and Kristen Farrell used the home as their primary residence. Joe Farrell is a Hamptons builder who once flipped his New York City apartment after owning it for only five months in 2016. The apartment at 510 Park Avenue, New York City, had been listed $8.995 million after he paid $4.4 million for it.
In the past few years, the Hamptons property has been listed as a short-term rental and summer rental through to Labor Day.
And while there’s enough to do at the property itself, Ocean Road Beach – the closest beach – is around a 30-minute walk or five minute car ride. Mecox Beach is a 37-minute walk and Sagg Main Beach will take at least 42-minutes.
