A Virgin Australia flight manager has confessed some of the best and worst moments from her career as a cabin crew member.

Christina Carter revealed her most memorable on-flight experiences to mark the ten year anniversary of Virgin’s Sydney to Los Angeles route, which has brought her face-to-face with some of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities. 

Among some of the more scandalous sky-high scenes she’s witnessed, Ms Carter said she’s seen passengers hooking up, breaking up and even proposing mid-air.

Sadly, Ms Carter said she has also helped sick passengers make their last trip home to visit their loved ones. 

‘As crew we see people at their best, and the worst at times,’ Ms Carter told news.com.au. 

Among some of the more scandalous sky-high scenes she’s witnessed, Ms Carter (pictured) said she’s seen passengers hooking up, breaking up and even proposing mid-air.

Despite the ups and downs, she said one of the aspects of her job she most enjoys is that ‘no day is ever the same’.

Ms Carter has worked in all areas of the Virgin Australia planes, which are owned by billionaire businessman Richard Branson, from economy and economy X to business class.

While she says she’s been ‘lucky to meet’ a whole host of famous faces, including Mel B, Billy Zane and Liam Hemsworth to name a few, a certain pair of pop stars were a particular joy to meet.

‘I have to add that the Madden Brothers were two of the loveliest guests I have ever flown,’ she said. 

She also said that Aussie actor Matthew Le Nevez, who starred in Offspring, made the time to chat to all the crew members and was ‘absolutely lovely’. 

Another highlight of her job is introducing visitors to Australia, as well as welcoming Aussies back to their home country.

She said the crew often give holidaymakers tips on what to do on their trip, and often share to-do lists with passengers.

Throughout her decade-long career Ms Carter has witnessed lots of changes to the airline.

From the rebrand in 2012, which saw V Australia transition to Virgin Australia and the introduction of Wi-Fi to the Boeing 777 fleet.

She noted that one of the biggest changes for the cabin crew was when the uniform was updated to smarter attire.

Virgin Australia launched in Australia in 2000 as Virgin Blue.

In February 2009, V Australia began operating flights from Sydney to Los Angeles.

Ms Carter said she was daunted by her first flight from Australia to America in 2009, as she’d never worked an ‘ultra-long haul’ flight before. 

Despite the average shift being around 17 hours, said said the crew rest area made it more manageable. 

‘[We] have a crew rest area on the plane where we can change and relax for our breaks so that we are feeling great for landing,’ Ms Carter said.
