Driver who failed to stop for police killed after crashing into lorry on North Circular Road

The man, thought to have been in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene in north-east London

The lorry driver was not injured in the collision, which happened shortly before 3am on Sunday on the North Circular Road in Walthamstow at the junction with the Waterworks Roundabout.

No-one else is believed to have been in the car, the Metropolitan Police said.

Police have not said at this point whether they were in pursuit of the car at the time of the crash.

The Met's directorate of professional standards has been informed and the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has launched an investigation.
