A motorist was left baffled when he spotted a dodgem being casually driven on a public road.

The popular fairground vehicle, away from its natural habitat, was captured on dash-cam as it pulled up at a junction on a housing estate in Harlow, Essex.

The remarkable footage reveals a middle-aged man in a vest waiting patiently at the road junction in his white bumper car before looking left and right for an appropriate time to turn.

Ben Peters, who runs Telematics Pro UK Ltd which supplied the dash-cam footage, said he couldn’t believe his eyes when he first watched the clip.

This is not the first time a bumper car has been spotted outside of its usual fairground environment.

Earlier this month Mark Harper, 46, was seen gliding along the pavement in a converted dodgem in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

The father-of three bought the theme park vehicle on eBay for £400 and spent almost £2,500 transforming it for use.

In 2015, retired Glaswegian Tom Evans, fell in love with a bumper car he had spotted on eBay and decided to transform it into a car that runs on petrol.
