Driver arrested in hit-and run of 11-year-old boy: cops

The hit-and-run driver who struck an 11-year-old boy in Queens on Monday was arrested by police Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Agostinho Sinclair, 41, of Far Rockaway, was arrested on charges including reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident and aggravated unlicensed operator, police said.

Earlier on Tuesday, police released surveillance video that shows the moment Sinclair allegedly struck the boy, who was propelled into the air after being rammed.

The boy was riding his bike in Far Rockaway at about 7:40 p.m. Monday when he was hit by Sinclair’s sedan near the intersection of Dickens Street and Healy Street, police said.

The impact flung the boy into the air and caused him to flip around, the video shows. He landed on the ground several car lengths from where the collision happened, police said.

Sinclair then drove off after the collision, authorities said.

The boy was taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital and treated for internal injuries, police said. He is listed in stable condition.
