Dani Dyer’s conman ex, who was jailed for scamming vulnerable pensioners out of  £34,000, has been released from prison.

Sammy Kimmence, 26, was locked up last year after targeting two elderly men – Peter Martin, 91, and Peter Haynes, 81 – into giving him money by posing as a financial investor.

But posting a photo of himself and his son, Santiago – who he shares with Dyer – to his Instagram today, he wrote: ‘Daddy’s home son’.

The 26-year-old conman persuaded his victims to let him invest their money for them and then splashed out on expensive restaurants, hotels, clothes and even a personalised number plate for his Mercedes.

Kimmence’s victims had been clients of his when he worked as Senior Trader at Equine Global Sports Limited, a company which subsequently went into liquidation.

The company received money from customers which it would use to place bets on horse races, on their behalf.

After this company ceased trading, Kimmence contacted two of his elderly former clients and pretended he would continue investing their money in the same way, but instead used it to fund his lavish lifestyle, leaving one victim ‘living on the breadline’.

Mr Martin, who lived in Havant, Hampshire, died in November last year aged 91 while Mr Haynes suffers from Alzheimer’s.

On 14 July 2021 Kimmence, of Rayleigh, Essex, who had denied all the charges before a last minute change of plea, was sentenced to 42 months in prison for five counts of fraud, totalling £33,919.

Prosecutors said Kimmence ‘groomed’ his elderly victims, likening his fraud to ‘a fox getting a key to the chicken pen’ and said Mr Martin had considered the conman ‘a friend right up until he died.’

Prosecutor Mike Mason said: ‘This was a very unpleasant fraud against two men who Mr Kimmence deliberately targeted.

‘He targeted them because they were old, they were vulnerable and somewhat isolated.

‘This wasn’t something he migrated into from a friendship. This was something he planned.’

Love Island star Dani – who shares a son with Kimmence – had ended with the fraudster before he was found guilty and was later forced to take their son to visit his dad at category-B HMP Winchester.

Dani has since moved on with footballer Jarrod Bowen, with the couple going public with their relationship in December 2021.

She spoke of the struggles she faced after giving birth to Santiago on BBC’s Tiny Happy People in April, explaining she has relied on the support of her EastEnders star dad Danny Dyer, 45, and mum Joanne Mas, 45, since becoming a single mother.

Dani said: ‘The way they have been there for me is honestly just such a dream. There have been some long nights, if Santi’s not been well, where I really struggled and I’ve just needed to have a chat or a sleep in the afternoon.

‘And they’ve been there for me. Knowing I’ve got them, I am blessed with that.’
