Cuomo: ‘No doubt’ we have to make changes to MTA

Gov. Andrew Cuomo suggested Monday that he is planning an overhaul of the beleaguered MTA — including in its management structure.

“There’s no doubt that we have to make changes at the MTA and significant organizational changes,” he told a Post reporter who asked why New York City construction costs run four or five times more than they do in places such as London and Paris.

The governor admitted that the transit agency is an organizational albatross that sucks money from taxpayers by paying way too much for projects.

Cuomo’s comments come at a time when he is once again gearing up to ask the city for money to help pay to repair the crumbling subway system.

The situation is so bad that Mayor Bill de Blasio has floated the idea of taking over control of the city’s subway system.
