Crazed husband shot wife and neighbours dead in front of kids with hunting rifle

A crazed husband shot his wife and two neighbours dead in front of children during a bloody rampage with a hunting rifle – before killing himself.

Artur Ibragimov, 34, returned home by taxi in Uchaly, Russia, and started a bitter row with his wife Lyaisan, 25, who worked for a finance company.

Neighbours said he had become ‘jealous’ and feared she had been unfaithful.

He "beat her" then picked up his gun shooting his wife in the arm.

Lyaisan fled the house in her nightgown covered in blood, running in -15C temperatures to her neighbour Gulsia Khilazheva’s home.

Ibragimov followed, killing the neighbour, a mother of three in her 30s, who had “tried to calm him down”.

Gulsia died on the spot with a shot to the chest, police said.

Ibragimov then shot at her husband Zafir Khilazhev who is now critically wounded in hospital in the oil-rich Bashkiria region, also known as Bashkortostan.

He also tried to shoot at the taxi while the driver was waiting to be paid.

Another neighbour, former policeman Rafis Nurmukhametov, ran to the scene and was gunned down by Ibragimov.

The massacre was witnessed by Gulsia’s children – daughter Nazgul, seven, and son Yangir, three – who saw their mother murdered and their father seriously wounded.

Lyaisan fled to woods but her killer husband followed her.

Early today the wife’s body was found in a nearby abandoned house, killed by gun shot wounds, said police.

The gunman then turned the weapon on himself, shooting into his mouth, a source said.

Ibragimov and his wife had two children aged seven and five, sleeping during the carnage, who are now orphans.

Nurmukhametov was a father of three. He had two daughters, 20 and 16, and a son, four.

Neighbours said Ibragimov’s relations with his wife had become fraught lately because he feared she was unfaithful.

“Artur was always jealous about his wife,” one told.

He had also started drinking heavily, according to villagers.

The taxi driver said he was waiting outside the house for his fare.

“His wife ran out, her arm covered in blood,” he said.

“She shouted – ‘why did you bring him back?’

“I understood nothing, and began to turn my car.

“Then I saw a man with a gun on the doorstep.

“I started accelerating away, and he shot at one of my wheels.

“He was running and shooting at my car.

“I jumped out of the car and ran away, just running along the road.

“Then I called the police.”

Ibragimov had a licence for his gun, it is understood.

A statement from the Russian Investigative Committee said: “The crime scenes are being examined.

“Witnesses are being interrogated, the experts’ opinion is sought on certain matters.

“All the circumstances of the crimes are being established.”

Child victims from the horror are in the care of relatives and have been given psychological support, say reports.
