Councilman drafts bill to ensure foreign flags can fly in city parks

A City councilman has drafted legislation to ensure that foreign flags can fly alongside Old Glory in public parks after the de Blasio administration banned the practice.

“Alongside of the American flag, having another ethnic flag being flown truly is a reflection of this country, our diversity and who we are,” Bronx Councilman Mark Gjonaj told The Post.

Gjonaj is pushing the measure after The Post reported Wednesday of a de Blasio administration policy that banned the display of foreign flags on the poles in city parks.
