A Utah businessman was caught on video spraying a man in the face with a fire extinguisher because he wouldn’t stop smoking a cigarette near his restaurant.

Jon Bird shared footage of the encounter between him and Alex Jamison, who is a businessman at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake City.

The video shows Jamison arguing with Bird and another man while a woman records the incident.

‘Are you really going to spray him with that fire extinguisher?’ the woman is heard asking.

Bird then places the cigarette in his mouth and proceeds to smoke as Jamison holds the extinguisher to Bird’s face. ‘Do it,’ Bird tells Jamison, who then sprayed Bird in the face with the fire extinguisher before backing away

Jamison then responds: ‘I’m going to put that cigarette out. You can’t smoke right here.’

‘Do it,’ Bird tells Jamison.

Jamison then sprayed Bird in the face with the fire extinguisher before backing away.

‘Call the cops,’ Bird tells the man standing next to him.

Jamison then says: ‘Call the cops. You can’t f**king smoke right here.’

Bird shared the video on Facebook on Friday warning others to ‘keep an eye out for this guy at the Gallivan Center’.

‘Need to get his info. Assaulted me and ran from the scene before the cops showed up. Anyone know any attorneys that can help? Never thought this would happen,’ Bird wrote in the caption of the video.

Bird said he was volunteering for an arts festival when the incident occurred. On Saturday, Bird hired an attorney because he believes that Jamison (left) assaulted him

Bird told WSBT Saturday that he was volunteering for an arts festival when the incident occurred.

He claimed that a security guard told him it would be fine if he smoked in the area.

However, Utah law prohibits smoking within 25 feet of a business entrance and according to the station, the door nearest the incident goes to a parking garage.

In the video, an outdoor seating area could be seen in the background.

Salt Lake police arrived to the scene, but Jamison had already left.

On Saturday, Bird hired an attorney because he believes that Jamison assaulted him.
