A business manager has become an online meme sensation after trying to help confused customers seeking to hire her skips – by standing inside them.

Non Harries, 57, came up with an idea to take photographs of someone stood inside company Greenacre Skip Hire’s skips to help hirers understand the size difference, but was shocked when boss Paul Nicholas’ son Andrew Nicholas, 29, told her to be the willing model.

The stunt was spotted by Radio 1 presenter Greg James who was impressed by its creativity.

Ms Harries, 57, from Dinas Cross, North Pembrokeshire, Wales, has since gone viral after the hilarious photographs were discovered on the company’s website by Radio 1 presenter Greg James.

The mother-of-two from Dinas Cross, Pembrokeshire, Wales said: ‘We decided to update the website as the old one was very outdated.

‘Since I’d started working here, I’d realised that a lot of people have no idea what the sizes meant and how big the skips were.

‘I asked Paul if someone was available to stand in the skips and he replied with ‘it’s your idea, you stand in them’, so that’s exactly what I did.’

Mr Nicholas, 58, added: ‘I’d seen a company with a computer generated person placed in a skip and thought it was a good idea.’

The pair decided it made more sense for Ms Harries to physically stand in the skip rather than a photographer to photoshop someone into the images.

Since the photos were uploaded to the website in 2016, fans of radio star Greg James have since created an abundance of memes about Ms Harries and her hilarious advertisement.

But she and Mr Nicholas – while loving the attention – are bemused by the attention the two-year-old images are suddenly getting.

Ms Harries said: ‘I never thought that a woman stood in a skip would become a meme in 24 hours.

‘It’s been bonkers, but if Greg James said it was his favourite, he can’t have many nice pictures.’

The memes became popular after the photographs were highlighted by DJ Greg James

People started using their digital photograph manipulation skills to create the memes

Mr Nicholas has even bought a converted car modelled on a skip to further advertise the local company and boost the attention they’re receiving.

Ms Harries is also using her new-found meme status to raise awareness for Mr Nicholas’ 10-year-old goddaughter Belle Curran, who is on the waiting list to receive a double lung transplant, and raise money for her ahead of Christmas.

She also wants to use the attention to raise money for Haverfordwest Ladies Circle, who also work towards helping Belle.
