Brit tourist, 26, arrested on suspicion of tying up, raping and beating woman in Majorca flat

The horrific alleged attack is said to have taken place at an apartment in s’Arenal, a holiday resort on the eastern end of the four-mile-long Playa de Palma near Majorca’s airport.

The woman was taken to hospital afterwards with bruising to her arms, legs and face.

Cops held the suspect – named as 26-year-old Dylan Rogers – at a neighbouring flat.

They secured the warrant to enter the apartment after police negotiators made a failed bid to persuade him to hand himself in.

The Brit, who is thought to live and work in the party resort of Magaluf, was hauled to court yesterday to be quizzed by a judge as part of the ongoing investigation.

He was led into court in shorts and a T-shirt with his head bowed.

The judge is thought to have remanded him in custody, although court officials could not be reached for comment early this morning to confirm the outcome of the hearing.

Local reports described the suspect as a 6ft 2in rugby player.

One described him as Irish but police have confirmed he has a British passport.

Police sources confirmed the alleged rape victim appeared to have been physically assaulted as well as sexually attacked.

They were called to the crime scene around 4.30pm on Wednesday and made the arrest in the early hours of Thursday morning.

One insider said: “She was bound with insulating tape and had bruises on her legs, arms and face.

“The suspect was located in a neighbouring flat and arrested several hours later after officers obtained a key and a warrant to access the property.”

The Brit has not been charged with any crime yet, as is normal in Spain where charges are only laid shortly before trial.

The woman is said to have alerted police after freeing herself from her binds.
