Brit beauty queen forced into marriage at 15 was 'raped every single day' by man twice her age

Rubie Marie was taken to Bangladesh where her new husband sought to get her pregnant so he could guarantee his way into the UK.

The 35-year-old, who lives in Birmingham, only managed to escape when she returned to Wales to give birth.

Opening up about her horrific ordeal, she told the BBC: "It's like your worst nightmare – the worst horror movie you've ever seen and you are just stuck in that scene forever.

Ms Marie says she was initially excited when she left her home in Wales to visit Bangladesh on what she was told was a family holiday.

She said: "We were only supposed to go for six weeks but then it went to two months, then it went to three months, then it got to six months.

"I was sitting down having dinner with the whole family and he [her father] just came in and he sat down and he started to eat."

She said that out of the blue, her father said: "Wouldn't it be great if we got Ruby married?"

Ms Marie said: "I was 15, I couldn't understand why they'd do this to me.

"It was horrible. I was treated like a slave."

She recalled going into the front room of the house they were living at and her "heartbroken" mum pointed at the man and told her: "That's the man you're going to get married to."

Ms Marie said: "I just looked at her, I was numb. I didn't have any emotions, no tears came out of my eyes. I didn't know what to think.

Describing her wedding day, she said she was "dressed up like a doll" and "drenched in gold".

But her horror got worse when she realised her new husband was desperate to get her pregnant.

She said: "More or less, I'd been raped every single day to get pregnant, so then he's got an official British pathway of coming to Britain because he's got a child."

She added: "I had to pretend I was happy. I had to pretend that I agreed to everything, which I didn't want to agree to.

"My cousin put me on the pill and he said 'take these every single day because you won't get pregnant'.

"Because I wasn't getting pregnant, they went through my belongings and they found them, threw them on the table and said 'this is why she's not getting pregnant'.

"Within a couple of weeks after that I got pregnant."

Ms Marie's daughter was born three weeks early and taken to a special care unit where doctors told her she was handicapped.

"He passed a virus onto me and that's what made it happen," she said through tears.

Rubie now works as an ambassador, educating people about forced marriage.

She also discovered the beauty pageant circuit and in 2016 was crowned Ms Galaxy UK after taking part in the over 30s category and went on to win the international title of Ms Galaxy 2017.
