Bride-to-be's dream £8k wedding ruined after TUI Mexico hotel ban her from first dance or toasts and make her guests eat with other hotel guests

Sarah Kinsella said she had to fork out just under £8,000 for the all-inclusive wedding package in Mexico after the holiday company changed her contract details.

Breaking down as she spoke to the Sun Online, Sarah, 32, said: "A wedding should be the most exciting time of my life, and instead I’m in tears.

"I should be getting my bridesmaids ready but instead it’s all just stress."

TUI has since apologised, saying they had readjusted her package.

Sarah said her contract stated her package for the April 2019 wedding catered for up to 40 guests, with each additional guest costing USD$27 (£20).

But the manager said she was later called by TUI and told her that she needed to sign a new contract – that only catered for up to 20 guests.

She had already invited 23 people to share in her big day.

The distraught bride said to add insult to injury, after she signed the contract she was told the hotel could not cater for a private wedding dinner and her guests would instead eat with other holidaymakers.

On top of that, they will also not be allowed to give toasts or have a first dance.

She said the changes meant she would have to fork out an extra, unexpected £3,000 to have a private dinner where she could have toasts and a first dance – tipping the entire package to almost £8,000.

Sarah said: “I was given all this information after I booked it and signed a contract.

“They said it was restrictions of the hotel but they’re the company – they should have already known.”

A wedding should be the most exciting time of my life, and instead I’m in tears.

Sarah said she would be going through with the wedding, having already paid for the big day, but was frustrated at TUI’s customer service.

She said: “I’ve just been getting fobbed off and no one wants to help.

“All I wanted was an apology.

“I want compensation for them ruining the most important day of my life.”

A TUI spokesperson said: "We are sorry to hear about the issues Ms Kinsella has faced with her upcoming wedding.

"We have been in touch with her and we have readjusted their wedding package.

"We know how important a wedding day is and we hope they have a lovely day celebrating."
