  • 'RUNNING UP THE WHITE FLAG'

No. 10 will pull today's vote on the Deal if the Letwin amendment to force a Brexit delay is passed.

A Number 10 source said: “If Letwin passes, [EU Council President Donald] Tusk will be given a copy of Parliament’s letter but we will continue to say to European leaders and everyone else ’get Brexit done on 31 October with our new deal, no delays’.

“The PM will not ask for or negotiate delay.”

  • HISTORY IN THE MAKING

Speaker John Bercow has taken his seat in the Commons as Parliament prepares to sit for the first time on a Saturday since 1982.

Bercow will get the casting vote on the Brexit deal if the showdown vote results in a tie.

  • BREXITEERS BACK BORIS?

The PM will absolutely need the support Tory Brexiteers – known as the European Research Group (ERG) – if he has any chance of his EU divorce deal being successful in the Commons.

Yesterday they were letting him sweat as he launched a frantic whipping operation to convince MPs his was the best proposal for Britain.

No10 is now confident the PM has won over the majority of the 28 so called “Spartans” who voted down Theresa May’s deal on all three occasions.

Addressing the ERG, deputy chairman Mark Francois said“Today, we can bring part of this to an end. In the voting lobbies, we should vote with a happy heart, clear heads and godspeed”.

While former Tory leader Iain Duncan Smith said: “We have got real problems with this deal, I accept that. But people are dog tired of this debate.

“They are begging us: ‘make progress’. We have to back this deal..”

  • NUMBER CRUNCHING

Here is a helpful graphic to give you an idea of where Boris Johnson could get the backing he needs to push his deal over the line.

The PM requires the support of 320 MPs to get his agreement approved first time of asking.

Theresa May's deal was voted down three times when she took it to the Commons.

  • BORIS BOOST

Despite the doom and gloom of the DUP and the planned Brexit-blocking of Remainers in the Commons – Brits are backing Boris.

According to a YouGov poll, voters are supporting the PM's Brexit deal by nearly two to one.

Forty one per cent of voters want MPs to back the deal.

While just 24 per cent want a defeat, and the rest said they don’t know.
