Boy misses mom after he was ripped from her arms by NYPD: kin

The baby boy snatched from his screaming mom’s arms by cops in a Brooklyn benefits center dust-up is missing his mom, who remains locked up on Rikers Island, a relative said Tuesday.

“I can tell from his mom not being around, he’s a little more aggressive now,” said Mark Lewis of his step-grandson, Damone Buckman III. “When you say stop, he’s doing it more. He’s looking for more attention, or [he’s on] edge.”

But the 17-month-old tot was all smiles on Tuesday at the family’s Bedford-Stuyvesant home, grinning from ear-to-ear in Lewis’s arms and playing with a red and blue toy microphone.

The scene was a far cry from the chaotic scene at a Boerum Hill social services center on Friday, when a wailing Damone was yanked from the arms of his mom by cops after she refused to leave in a dispute over seating.

Jazmine Headley, 23, was arrested and arraigned on numerous charges, but Brooklyn prosecutors on Tuesday dropped the case.

Headley remains behind bars on Rikers Island due to an outstanding New Jersey warrant, but authorities on both sides of the Hudson are working to get her released.

Lewis, 52, said that he’s been in touch with Headley throughout the ordeal.

“She’s just missing her son. She just wants to come home and clarify everything,” said Lewis. “I told her to stay strong.”
