Bizarre request Prince Charles makes to his staff every morning

As heir to the throne, Prince Charles has a team of staff at his beck and call 24 hours a day.

They cook his food, make his bed and generally help him with day-to-day life, which has reportedly led palace workers to nickname him the Pampered Prince.

According to Princess Diana’s close friend and former butler Paul Burrell, who worked closely with the family, Charles has a very strict morning routine.

It requires a lot of help from his loyal staff, and some of the requests are a little unusual.

Speaking during Amazon Prime’s documentary Serving the Royals: Inside the Firm, Mr Burrell reveals: "His pyjamas are pressed every morning, his shoe laces are pressed flat with an iron, the bath plug has to be in a certain position, and the water temperature has to be just tepid."

But quite possibly the most bizarre request regards brushing his teeth.

Mr Burrell claims Charles has one of his staff squeeze one inch of toothpaste onto his toothbrush every morning.

Earlier this week Prince Harry revealed he was mocked when he was younger for picking up an unusual habit from his dad.

Speaking on a new BBC documentary to mark Prince Charles’s 70th birthday, Harry said: "I used to get taken the mickey out of at school for just picking up rubbish" reports the Express.

He goes on: "When you go for walks anywhere, if you see something, it stands out, you pick it up.

"Before you know it, somebody [says], ‘What are you doing?’ I’ve literally done this because I am programmed to do it because my father did it. And actually, we should all be doing it."

Big brother Prince William also revealed their dad used to take them litter picking when they were children.

When they were on holiday in Norfolk, Charles would give the boys rubbish spikes and plastic bags and send them to clear up different areas.
