Beautiful way baby boy will always remember dad who died two days before birth

A baby boy who will never get to meet his father has been given a special name so he will always remember him.

The baby’s family have called the youngster Mitchell in memory of his father Mitchell Brigdale.

Construction worker Mitchell Brigdale died in a car accident between Gloucester and Cheltenham in the early hours of Saturday, Sunday 22, reports Gloucestershire Live .

The 24-year-old who has a daughter called Bailey-Mae, died two days before the birth of his son Mitchell.

His older sister Emma said: "It’s really sad because he never got to meet his baby who was born five weeks early on September 26."

His sister believes baby Mitchell may have been born early due to the shock of Mitchell’s accident.

She said: "Although he was born by emergency section five weeks early, he’s a really strong little baby.

"It’s as if his dad is there protecting him and giving us a sign that he is watching over everyone."

His family have paid tribute to him and said he had a ‘massive heart’.

A statement released by the family said: "Mitch Brigdale was a fun loving and handsome young man.

“He will be sadly missed by his family, his children and his many friends, including his best friend and flat mate Jack.

“Mitch had a massive heart and loved his family dearly. He had so many friends from all over the county.

"He attended many music festivals all around the country. As a child Mitch attended school in both Cheltenham and Tewkesbury.

“Mitchell was self-employed as a construction worker. He was very loved and sadly missed by everybody that knew him.”

The family have set up a fundraising page to help pay for the funeral costs.
