BBC blasted after snowmen were called 'snowpeople' in new kids show

Angry parents branded it “politically correct garbage”.

The term was used in CBeebies’ Catie’s Amazing Machines. Host Catie Munnings, 20, said during an episode:

“Snow is amazing. You get to build snowpeople and go sledging.”

Dad Simon Guard raged on Twitter: “Put CBeebies on for my daughter and they are referring to ‘snowpeople’.

More PC garbage and indoctrination from the BBC. Another reason to abolish the licence fee.”

Another father called Chris blasted: “Got CBeebies on for the kids, talking about snow and how you can build ‘snowpeople’. So we can’t even say snowman any more.”

Twitter user Abby Simpson wrote: "Seriously? Two balls of snow and a carrot have a gender?"

Last winter, Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan mocked the growing use of gender-neutral terms, tweeting: “Right, I’m off to build a non-binary gender fluid snowperson.”

Last night, a BBC spokesman declined to comment.
