Baby tested for coronavirus after death at NYC hospital

A baby boy is being tested for COVID-19 after dying in the Big Apple just days after being discharged from a hospital with a coronavirus-like infection, police sources told The Post.

The 1-year-old — identified by sources as Michael Kameo — had been in NYU for two days last week for an upper respiratory infection, sources said.

He was discharged on Saturday and found unconscious by his dad at their home on East 23rd Street around 8 a.m. Monday, the NYPD said.

He was raced to Mount Sinai Hospital but pronounced dead at 9:30 a.m., police said.

Because of his symptoms, his body is being tested for COVID-19, with the results still pending, the sources told The Post.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death, police said.
