OVER a million stimulus checks worth more than $2billion are on the way to American bank accounts nationwide.
Single checks of $1,400 and additional plus-up payments are being processed by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as part of the third stimulus rollout.
More than half of Americans will receive their payment via a direct deposit in their bank account while others will receive their checks in paper format.
The checks also include more than 570,000 Americans receiving a plus-up payment.
You could be eligible if you didn't qualify for the full payment based on your 2019 tax filings, but you do based on last year's returns.
People who welcomed a child in 2020 or added another dependent will be in the same boat.
If you've not filed your 2020 tax return but qualify for the payment, the IRS will send it out once your circumstances have been updated.
Americans should've already received their checks by May 5 but don't panic if you've not received yours yet. It doesn't mean you'll miss out.
The IRS say that they are sending the third payment to eligible individuals as tax returns continue to be processed.
If you receive Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you may have already received your check.
The IRS began sending out electronic payments on April 7 and paper checks on April 9.
You can track your stimulus check using this IRS tool. If you didn't get your first or second payment, you can try claiming a recovery rebate credit that can be filed with your 2020 tax return.
The tool updates once a day and Americans are advised not to call the IRS.
While some are calling for another round of stimulus checks and for the payment to increase to $2,000, there are no plans for that just yet.
The White House says that decision will be left to Congress.
If you've already filed your taxes, you could receive some extra stimulus money. There are also stimulus benefits for homeowners and families.
