Adidas is paying homage to the legendary hip-hop group Beastie Boys in a major way.
The sportswear retailer is collaborating with the music artists to debut an adidas Skateboarding x Beastie Boys Americana limited-edition sneaker. The three-way design is a creative combination between the group, brand and adidas x Beastie Boys exhibition, which celebrates the artists’ influence on skate, hardcore punk, hip-hop and graffiti culture.

Not only is the design an ode to the iconic Golden Era of the ’90s, but it also boasts updated touches to the traditional shoe that mirrors the band’s impact on history. Instead of the classic red, blue and grey color scheme, the new Americana sneaker boasts an off-white and light grey color palette. It will still maintain the classic gum sole, but the Beastie Boys logo executed by artist Eric Haze will be stamped on the tongue to complete the look.
In preparation of the anticipated launch, adidas unveiled the new kicks on the 30th anniversary of the band’s second studio album Paul’s Boutique.
The collaboration will be available exclusively at select skateboard retailers in North America and the Beyond The Streets gift shop on July 25, 2019. A portion of the proceeds will benefit two charities: PEACE Sisters and Little Kids Rock.
