This post contains spoilers for the past seasons of The Bold Type.
We’ve known since Season 2 that Kat (Aisha Dee), Sutton (Meghann Fahy), and Jane (Katie Stevens) would be returning to Scarlet Magazine for a third season of The Bold Type, but when-oh-when will that be? And is the good ship Kadena over for good? Honestly, Freeform, you can’t keep us hanging like this!
Here’s everything we know about season three so far.
Release date?! Please?
None yet, but we do know you won’t be waiting too long. On December 18, Freeform announced on Twitter that the series (based on former Cosmopolitan editor Joanna Coles, btw) will return in Spring 2019.

Is there a trailer, at least?
Again, sorry to disappoint you, but there’s no official trailer yet. Luckily, we do have this itty-bitty look at Betty Who’s guest appearance to kinda hold us over.
Is it fair to gather from those 20 seconds that it seems like Jane is cheering up a choked up Kat? Could this have anything to do with her break from Adena? My heart can’t handle this separation!!
Any new faces?
Finally, something I have a real answer for. According to Deadline, two new cast members will join The Bold Type as recurring characters in season three; Peter Vack and Alexis Floyd.
Vack will play Patrick Duchand, “a magnetic, fearless, and whip-smart new staffer at Scarlet whose employment shakes things up.” Meanwhile, Floyd is Tia Clayton, “a smart and driven campaign manager for a local city council candidate.”
Will Jane pick Pinstripe over Dr. Ben?!
She better not, but who knows? Last we left Tiny Jane, Pinstripe had finally admitted his feelings for the writer, while Ben proved he’s in it for the long haul by coming up with a domestic partnership plan to help with her fertility crisis. Stevens herself has kept coy about the whole thing, but hinted to Refinery 29 that Jane has made up her mind in season three.
According to Stevens, the third installment will focus on how Jane deals with her choices. “How does she move forward with the person she’s chosen? How does she move forward with freezing her eggs?”
