Yellowstone season 4 theories: Will Rip Wheeler kill Jamie as Beth’s secret is revealed?

Yellowstone: Ryan Bingham discusses character Walker in 2019

Yellowstone season four is being made for Paramount Network and fans are still waiting to find out the fates of the Dutton family. Beth Dutton (played by Kelly Reilly) was caught up in an explosion and some believe her brother Jamie (Wes Bentley) was behind the attack. Beth’s partner Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) is aware of the sibling rivalry and some fans think he may kill Jamie in the upcoming season.

Will Rip Wheeler kill Jamie?

The third season of Yellowstone ended with plenty of cliffhangers as the Dutton family was targeted by an anonymous assassin.

An explosive device had been sent to Beth’s office, and she was sadly caught up in the blast, with her fate yet to be revealed to fans.

Her father, John Dutton (Kevin Costner), was also badly injured in a shooting, and viewers are still waiting to find out if he survives.

Most believe both John and Beth lived through the attacks, and there will be plenty of people wanting revenge against the perpetrators.

Jamie already has a turbulent relationship with his sister, and in a previous season, Beth revealed a huge secret about their relationship.

She recalled how she had fallen pregnant at a young age and her brother had driven her to an abortion clinic.

The specialists told Jamie, out of earshot, how Beth would have to be sterilized and she would no longer be able to have children.

Jamie consented to the procedure without telling Beth, and it was not until later on, she realised what he had done.

She has hated her brother ever since, and some fans believe Jamie tipped their rivalry over the edge by sending the explosive to Beth’s office.

Viewers took to Reddit to discuss the possibility of Rip avenging Beth by taking out Jamie once and for all.

Heyshugitsme said: “Now that I know why Beth hates Jamie, I hope she murders him.”

Fans pointed out how Jamie had turned into a dark and relentless character at the end of the third season.

Heyshugitsme added: “I’m so afraid Rip will kill him – or try. And he kind of feels like a son to John now … but if he kills one of John’s actual offspring, that will be all she wrote [sic].”

While most fans admit what Jamie did to Beth was wrong, others have suggested it may not be the cause of his potential downfall.

ApollosBucket said: “He and Beth were scared. She has every right to be livid with him, especially since it seems he hasn’t acknowledged what he did at least we haven’t been shown that, but I don’t think it’s worth him getting killed for.”

Some have even suggested it will be John who kills his own son, as he has despised Jamie for a long time.

Fenbaldwin said: “John hates Jamie and wished him dead. The only reason John keeps Jamie around is because he can sometimes be useful to him.

“If Jamie dies, it will probably be John himself who puts a bullet in him.”

In a video for Paramount Network’s YouTube channel, actor Bentley discussed the storyline following Beth’s pregnancy when she was younger.

He said: “The incident at the heart of the issued between Beth and Jamie had been something we have discussed since before we started shooting the show.

“The Duttons – it’s a name. If we go to anyone else for an abortion, everyone knows.”

Co-star Costner said Jamie was doing what he thought was right at the time, but it was not the most well-thought-out approach.

He said: “From his standpoint he was afraid, he wasn’t sure, she came to him and he did this, and it was bad.”

Bentley admitted his character made a “terrible” and “wrong” decision as it has tarnished his relationship with his sister ever since, but he was just a child at the time.

Beth’s partner Rip is known for being completely loyal to the Duttons and Beth is the most important person in his life.

He has shown in the past how he is capable of killing those who stand in the way of the Duttons, and there is nothing to suggest he will stop at family.

If Jamie continues to hurt Beth after she recalled the abortion story, there is a chance Rip could take drastic action against him.
