An audience member on the Jeremy Vine show has been praised as "iconic" for giving Roxanne Pallett a death stare on live TV.
Eagle-eyed viewers spotted the woman sitting behind Roxanne giving her serious evils – and the moment has been shared widely on social media. Some viewers claim that her face said "what the nation is thinking".
One person commented: "This iconic woman single handedly represents the nation’s feelings on Roxanne Pallett", while another wrote, "The lady in the back there representing for the uk general public".
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few days, you probably know all about the ‘punchgate’ scandal on Celebrity Big Brother .
The ex-Emmerdale star accused Ryan Thomas of punching her in a "deliberate and unprovoked" attack during a play fight – a claim that sparked outrage among viewers who saw the moment on their screens.
He broke down in tears saying that his "life is in tatters" and was issued with a formal warning by producers of the Channel 5 show.
Roxanne decided to exit the show after the controversial incident – hours after she heard CBB fans chanting "get Roxy out" during Ben Jardine’s eviction.
She appeared on the Jeremy Vine show to speak out for the first time since leaving the house and apologised for what she described as an "overreaction" to events, adding that "everything in that house becomes heightened".
She said: "I massively apologise to not just Ryan but to his family, friends, his fans and every single person who watched that and completely and justifiably saw an overreaction to what wasn’t a malicious act.
"At that moment, because I am sensitive and I was emotional, I mistook what was playful."
She continued: "It’s the word ‘deliberate’ I regret. I doubted his intentions. There’s no malicious intent in that. I questioned his motivation. I got it wrong… He couldn’t disprove his intentions and I couldn’t disprove the feeling."
Roxanne has been criticised by viewers and pundits who say her actions undermine those who have experienced genuine physical abuse – most of whom don’t have witnesses on live TV.

Roxanne explained that she was actually a victim of domestic violence in the past – which made her more "sensitive" to the incident.
Getting emotional, she said: "I’ve actually been a victim of domestic violence years ago. I’ve spoken out about it. I’ve worked with Women’s Aid because of my experience.
"My reaction is a telltale sign of being in a situation like that. I would be mortified to feel even one person felt I discredited or undermined abuse."
She said she has had to retreat from social media for the abuse she has since received from viewers.
