Wilderness: Official trailer

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Wilderness.

Wilderness has debuted on Prime Video but its director cannot help but think about the “stunning” scene they had to get rid of from the drama.

Starring Jenna Coleman and Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Wilderness is a gripping six-part series based on the 2019 thriller book of the same name by BE Jones.

The series follows the lives of married couple Liv (played by Coleman) and Will (Jackson-Cohen) who move to New York after he gets a promotion.

While Liv is more than happy to move for him, her world is torn apart when she discovers he has cheated on her.

He begs for her forgiveness and books their dream trip of travelling around America to see some of its most beautiful national parks.

But just as she starts to move past his infidelity, Liv finds out he is still having an affair and plans on leaving her.

This is when Liv forms a plan in her mind to carry out her revenge and get rid of her husband for good.

Discussing some of the key moments from the drama with Express.co.uk, director So Yong Kim talked of a scene that she was disappointed to see deleted.

She said: “I wish we could have put the dehydration sequence back.

“It’s just so stunning, this whole sequence of them hiking through the Grand Canyon and we got access to this amazing location and it was just stunning.

“I wish we could have made that fit but we couldn’t – we had to kill a lot of [our] babies!”

Jokingly, creator Marnie Dickens added: “I’ll send it [the deleted scene] to So on a DVD!”.

Even though fans may want to see more from the show, it is very unlikely there will be more to come.

Wilderness has been labelled a limited series, which means there are plans to have just one season.

This, combined with the fact it is based on a book, suggests there is going to be just the six episodes to get stuck into.

Wilderness is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
