The Morning Joe co-hosts have been very private about their romantic relationship from the very beginning. But Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski have revealed a little bit about their wedding day they had over the holiday weekend. Also, why they decided to keep it secret despite them being a public couple who is on television together often. Here is everything you need to know about their secret wedding ceremony.

Announcements typically sent out before the wedding day are avoided if a couple wants to keep it secret. Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski followed suit by not sending out formal wedding invitations and instead made 14 phone calls to friends and family members to invite them.
Those friends and family members still weren’t given a location for the dinner until the evening of their wedding day. The secret wedding was at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 24.
“We did an event there more than a year ago and we were just blown away, seeing all these documents and how we felt seeing them,” Brzezinski told Vanity Fair. “It makes sense now more than ever, given what we stand for as a couple, what we do for a living, and what we’re worried about as a country.” So why did the two decide to put so much effort to keep the ceremony secret?

The co-hosts have been trying to navigate having a relationship while working together. They decided to keep this one thing private for them because their personal relationship got a lot of attention in the past.
“We wanted it to be really small and simple and not what you expected from Mika and Joe,” Brzezinski told Vanity Fair. “Everything we do is exposed, and everything felt exposed every step of the way, so we want this to be private until it’s over. We wanted to recognize it more quietly and have the people who are most important to us around us. And you know, our show is a cocktail party every morning.”
It’s probably not surprising that Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski decided to have a secret ceremony. They were very secretive about their relationship even when they got engaged. However, their relationship still got some attention with Donald Trump who tweeted, “Some day, when things calm down, I’ll tell the real story of @JoeNBC and his very insecure long-time girlfriend, @morningmika. Two clowns!” The Daily Beast also reported sources claimed Brzezinski got help to keep stories about the relationship out of the headlines.
The Morning Joe co-hosts are officially married but chances are they’ll probably stick to their guns about their private life in the future.
