Who Won 'Dancing With the Stars' Fall 2018? – The Cheat Sheet

Finally, it’s proof that personality matters as much – if not more – than raw natural talent. Radio host and comedian Bobby Bones admitted that he felt “clueless” throughout his entire stint on DWTS season 27, and yet he still managed to take home the top prize Monday night. Why? Because he had fun the whole time, and the judges noticed.

Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess are Season 27 winners

It was impossible not to smile at Bones and his pro partner Sharna Burgess’ high energy routines that were always so joy-filled and irreverent. They weren’t the forerunners for most of the competition or even the top scorers, but they were definitely the fan favorites. People couldn’t get enough of watching them perform.

Even with their popularity, it was still a little surprising to see them clinch the title after their freestyle routine set to the upbeat song “The Greatest Show.” Perhaps it was Bones’ flossing at the end that put them over the edge? It seems likely.

The finale recap

The other contestants certainly didn’t go down without a fight. All four finalists got to perform two dance routines: their most memorable dance from the season and a freestyle. Milo Manheim and pro partner Witney Carson received a perfect score for their reprise of the New York-themed Charleston and then delighted with a contemporary interpretation of Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine.”

Evanna Lynch and her partner Keo Motsepe also got a perfect score of 60 when they redid their tango dance followed by Bjork’s “It’s Oh So Quiet.” It was clear they were overjoyed just to be in the finale and were having so much fun dancing. Still, it wasn’t enough to take home the top spot.

Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten redid their tango to “Swan Lake and then freestyled down from the top of a mountain while Avril Lavigne performed her hit new single “Head Above Water.” It was visually stunning and emotionally moving, just a real joy to watch.

Star-studded performances rounded out the night

Lavigne wasn’t the only performer of the evening. Robin Thicke charmed the audience in his way while county stars Dan + Shay performed “Speechless.” Christian superstar and singer of the moment Lauren Daigle performed “You Say.” R&B singer Tinashe, who was voted out earlier in the competition, came back to sing “Fever.”

Live tour dates are coming soon

The finale also featured a big announcement: “Dancing with the Stars Live: A Night to Remember” tour will begin in a few weeks on December 15th in Columbia, South Carolina. The winners Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess will be joining the tour along with eliminated contestants including Joe Amabile, John Schneider, and Juan Pablo di Pace.
