Who left Coronation Street in 2018? From Lewis Archer to Pat Phelan and Eva Price, the characters who exited the soap

Here's the lowdown on who left Weatherfield in 2018…

Who left Coronation Street in 2018?

Lewis Archer

Technically Lewis Archer left the cobbles in 2019 after being killed off on New Year's Day.

The suave conman died of a heart attack and was discovered by a distraught Audrey, still clutching an engagement ring in his hand.

But her mood soon turned from grief to anger when she realised that Lewis had most likely robbed her of her £80,ooo savings!

Gail knew something was up all along but Audrey dismissed her suspicions.

Angie Appleton

After a rollercoaster year in which she discovered her whole marriage had been founded on lies, Angie, played by Victoria Ekanoye, felt the need for a fresh start.

In early 2019 she bid farewell to Mary and Weatherfield for good as she took George to start a new life in South Africa.

However an inside source said this may not be the last we see of her.

They said: "Everyone's sad to see Victoria go but it's not the end. Mary is still George's nanny and you never know when she could need her back."

Fiz Stape

Actress Jennie McAlpine confirmed in April 2018 that she was expecting her second child.

This means that Fiz is taking a break from Coronation Street while Jennie goes on maternity leave – she filmed her final scenes in September.

Fiz and Tyrone's relationship was tested last year after he cheated on her with Gemma Winter.

But she made the decision to move to Birmingham with Hope so she could attend a special school.

Jude Appleton

After being exposed as a compulsive liar and turning violent towards his mum Mary, Jude fled the street on a tram.

He tried to take his son with him but Roy Cropper ran after him and persuaded to leave George behind.

A few months later Mary then hired a private detective and went with Roy to Blackpool to track Jude down.

They soon realised he was up to his old tricks and posing as an orthopedic surgeon called "Dr Ken Barlow" – he vanished again after tricking Mary into giving him some cash.

Eva Price

Eva Price, played by Catherine Tyldesley made her Corrie debut in 2011.

Corrie bosses confirmed the actress was leaving the soap in December 2017.

She first left to go to France in July 2018, with baby Susie and Adam Barlow but returned for her ex Aidan Connor's inquest.

But realising he couldn't compete with Aidan's memory, Adam then broke up with her and Eva and Susie returned to France in August 2018.

Nicola Rubinstein

Nicola Rubinstein joined Coronation Street in 2017.

Her storylines included having to contend with her villanous father Pat Phelan and an unexpected pregnancy.

After being shot by her serial killer father Pat Phelan she decided to make a fresh start in Bristol and take baby Zak with her.

Pat's ex wife Eileen also joined her but returned to Weatherfield after a few weeks because she missed her friends.

Pat Phelan

Pat Phelan is played by Connor McIntyre, 57, and made his Corrie debut in 2013.

The villain killed Andy Carver and Luke Britton and even framed Anna Windass for GBH which led to her imprisonment.

On Good Friday 2018, Eileen pushed Pat off a lighthouse in Whitehaven in an explosive showdown – and he was believed to be dead.

Then on Easter Monday, it was revealed that Pat was very much still ALIVE.

In the end he died after being stabbed by Anna Windass in the bistro and made his exit from the soap.

Aidan Connor

Aidan Connor was played by Shayne Ward and was in the soap since 2015.

He became the boss of Corrie's iconic knicker factory, investing all his savings into the troubled business.

His character left Coronation Street by taking his own life on May 7, 2018

Rosie Webster

Rosie Webster has been a character on Coronation Street since birth in 1990.

She was previously played by Emma Collinge and then Helen Flanagan took over the role in 2000.

Helen exited the soap on June 8, 2018 to go on maternity leave and gave birth to her second child, a girl named Delilah on June 23.

Her final scenes showed her character being interviewed on This Morning and then offered a job in Japan as a TV host.

Zeedan Nazir

On May 23, 2018, Zeedan Nazir left Corrie, supposedly for good.

But the character's exit was branded "weak" by fans as he just left for London in a taxi.

The Sun revealed earlier in 2018 that actor Qasim Akhtar was leaving to try his hand at another project after nearly four years in Weatherfield.

Zeedan was struggling to cope with his wife's new relationship with Kate Connor and felt he had to lay low after assaulting a man who was planning to attack them.
