Here is everything you need to know about the experienced journalist and Strictly 2018 favourite…

Who is Stacey Dooley and how old is she?

Stacey Dooley was born and raised in Luton, Bedfordshire.

The 31-year-old is best known for her TV roles, after her first ever telly job was on Blood, Sweat and T-shirts.

As Dooley specialises in documentaries and investigations, she often jets across the world to work on different projects.

Some of her recent work has taken her to Japan, Iraq and Canada.

When did she join Strictly Come Dancing?

Stacey was revealed as a Strictly Come Dancing contestant on the show on August 16.

She said: “I'm so, so ready to embrace this and take to the dancefloor!

“It’s happening! My mother is going to explode. 2018 has already been an incredible year for me.

“I’ve done some amazing things and I’m excited to add ‘becoming a dancing genius’ to the list."

As the show geared up to hit our screens, Stacey told the BBC: "I’m looking forward to throwing myself completely into it all.

“I wanna get super fit, nail the routines, and live my best life in all the fancy outfits!”

Stacey has been paired up with veteran pro, Kevin Clifton.

What other TV shows has Stacey Dooley worked on?

In April 2018 Stacey took part in BBC show Life on the Ward to celebrate the 70th birthday of the NHS.

The popular star was given her own show, Stacey Dooley Investigates, in 2011 – and it's still going strong.

She uncovered the disturbing new trend of teens using emojis to deal Class A drugs on Snapchat.

Another BBC investigation by Stacey Dooley uncovered how the sexualisation of young girls is widespread in Japan, with child rape featuring in comic books.

In November 2016, Stacey was seen on Face to Face With Isis.

The jaw-dropping show saw the TV presenter revisit Iraq to tell the story of a former captive of the so-called Islamic State.

Viewers were also gobsmacked by another of Dooley's investigations, which revealed 1,200 indigenous Canadian women who have gone missing or been MURDERED since 1980.
