Who is Ruby Bhogal on Bake Off 2018? London Underground project manager who was a finalist

Some would say it was a tragedy that she didn't win. Here's everything you need to know about the Bake Off finalist.

Who is Ruby from The Great British Bake Off 2018?

Ruby Bhogal, 29, is a project manager on the London Underground.

She grew up in a tight-knit Indian family as the youngest of four children.

As a little girl, baking meant her mother's jalebis to her, which are a type of Indian sweet.

Now, as a busy Londoner, she loves inviting her friends around to try her baked goods, from cakes and pastries to spicy minced lamb pastry rolls.

She explains her baking style as boozy and relaxed – and admits trying to sneak some alcoholic beverage into everything she makes.

Ruby impressed the judges with her baking while leaving a smile on viewers' faces with her friendly and positive attitude.

Why did Ruby apply for the show?

Ruby said she joined the Bake Off tent for her "love of baking, the love of the show" and for herself.

She says because she is so new to baking, her friends are going to be shocked to see her work on the show.

She confessed: "I don't really post about my baking on social media, so I am sure my friends are going to be surprised.

"I think it may blow their minds as they know me for going out and going to the gym as opposed to being in the kitchen."

Now, the talented project manager has made it all the way to the finals alongside Rahul and Kim-Joy and might even take home the win after all.
