SPAIN is putting singer Miki to the forefront, hoping that he can win the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 – a title the country hasn't seen since 1969.
With his song La Venda climbing up the charts, here’s all you need to know about the singer and his upcoming performance at the grand finale…
Who is Spain’s 2019 Eurovision entry Miki?
Miguel "Miki" Núñez Pozo, better known as Miki, is a singer-songwriter from Barcelona.
As a child, he started learning how to play guitar and piano, and it wasn’t long after that where everything in Miki’s life surrounded itself around music.
He started to take things seriously after landing himself the lead singing position in a six-piece band called Daltong Bang.
They were a Catalan cover band, who would cover songs from the seventies all the way to the present day and judging by the number of events they were booked for, Miki passion for music had reached an all-time high.
The band toured around their home region of Catalonia for a reasonable amount of time before Miki was named as Spain’s representation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.

His band members say they are very proud of their vocalist and while it’s unclear whether Miki will continue to remain in the group now that he’s released a solo record of his own, there’s clearly still a lot of love on both ends.
As he preps for his big performance at the grand finale on May 18, 2019, Miki revealed he wants the moment to be extra special.
“I have proposed a lot of ideas and we’ve been mailing the Delegation non-stop. There have been great ideas in Eurovision, so we got to bring something as big and wild!” Miki said about his performance ideas.
“Let’s make a huge party and play a big risk on stage!”

The record was written by Adrià Salas who is the lead singer of Catalan band La Pegatina and has a very upbeat touch to it.
Whether or not it’ll be enough to beat his opponents and win the competition will be seen when the talent show commences later this month.
