Who is Melvin Odoom? Kiss FM DJ, Lego Masters presenter and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant

The 38-year-old is back hosting a competition to find the best Lego builder in the country – here's all you need to know about him.

How old is Melvin?

Melvin, 38, was born on July 30, 1980.

He is the brother of actress and writer Yonah Odoom.

He is of Ghanian descent and studied media performance at the University of Bedfordshire.

The radio star is a celebrity ambassador for The Prince's Trust charity.

What TV shows has he done?

Melvin competed on the 2016 edition of Strictly Come Dancing.

He was partnered with Janette Manrara and the couple were the first to leave the competition.

But in a massive twist, Melvin went on to win the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special.

In February 2017, Odoom took part in a celebrity edition of Take Me Out.

He also hosted the Xtra Factor with Rochelle Humes.

What radio show does he present?

Melvin recently announced that he would be moving to BBC Radio one alongside Rickie Haywood Williams and Charlie Hedges.

He will be hosting the late evening show.

Prior to that, he presented Kiss 100's Breakfast show every weekday morning alongside Rickie and Charlie.

The Londoner first met his co-host Rickie whilst studying at the University of Bedfordshire, since then they have been long-running presenters early mornings at Kiss FM.

The show has a great reputation for thrusting presenters into the ballroom spotlight, with previous competitors including David Dickinson, Carol Vorderman and Christine Bleakley.

They won Silver at the Sony Radio Awards in 2009 within the category of Breakfast Show Award.

What is Lego Masters?

Melvin is back on the box in Lego Masters.

The show seeks to find Britain and Ireland's most talented amateur Lego builders.

Each programme tests a wide array of disciplines from the playful, to the technical, to the unexpected.

They are then judged by the Vice President of Design for the Lego group, Matthew Ashton.

Joining Matthew in each round will be different expert judges from the fields of engineering, art and design and guest celebrity Lego fans including Richard Osman, Bill Bailey and Dara O’Briain.
