Who is Kim-Joy on Bake Off 2018?

Kim-Joy, 27, is a mental health specialist from Leeds.

She was born in Belgium to an English father and Malaysian-Chinese mother and now lives in Leeds with her partner.

Kim-Joy says her mixed-heritage background is reflected in her open attitude to all styles of baking.

Her baking passion is bread and she has even turned her hand to every style and type of bread there is.

Why did Kim-Joy apply for the show?

Kim-Joy revealed she was encouraged to apply for the show by her friends.

"None of my family really bake, it’s just me that bakes.", she said.

"My friends have always wanted me to apply, but I didn’t feel confident enough to apply until this year.

"I went into the tent mostly for myself to see if I could do it!"

The Great British Bake Off 2018 started on Tuesday, August 28, at 8pm on Channel 4 and airs at the same time each week.
