She’s everyone’s favorite Italian home cook, and we’ve been watching her create delicious cuisine for years. Giada De Laurentiis has proven time and time again that she’s a favorite on The Food Network — and it’s been amazing to see her growth as a chef and a TV presenter over the years. Not only have we seen everything she can do in the kitchen, but we’ve also gotten a glimpse into her personal life through her TV shows from time to time. And many fans were particularly shocked when she announced her divorce from husband Todd Thompson after over a decade of marriage.
Today, Giada has totally bounced back from the dark times — and she’s been seeing the same man for a few years now. Here’s who she’s been dating and whether marriage is on the brain.

Being on TV means having aspects of your personal life out in the open, and we’re sure that made Giada’s divorce from Todd Thompson all the more painful. As she told People, “After I got divorced, I spent about a year and a half alone, not dating, just figuring things out. I had been with Jade’s dad for 25 years. I didn’t know what it meant to not be married.” Once she connected with Shane, however, she mentioned that their connection made her feel “like a kid again.” And she added that one of her favorite things about Shane is that he can always make her laugh.
So, how did the two get together in the first place? People explains they met back in 2013 when Shane was hired to have a talk show with both Giada and Food Network chef Bobby Flay. “I just thought she was really smart and funny and I thought, ‘God, she would be a great host for a show,’” Shane said. The show never actually went through, but it gave Giada a chance to relax after her divorce and connect with Shane on a deeper level later.

Shane’s no professional chef, but it seems he totally understands the TV industry, as People reminds us he currently produces Steve Harvey’s talk show. Not only that, but Shane also knows the pains of divorce, as he was married once before as well. While everything started totally professional and friendly between them, it wasn’t long before their similarities allowed friendship to turn into romance.
Whenever the two have talked of each other in interviews, they seem totally smitten as well. Shane told People, “Giada is one of the most positive people I have ever met. She is warm and absolutely beautiful—what you see on the outside is there on the inside as well.” And though he doesn’t have any children of his own, he seems to love hanging out with Giada’s pre-teen daughter, Jade. “Jade has got two amazing parents, so I can be a part of her life without any pressure. I really enjoy hanging out with her,” he said.

Will we be hearing wedding bells on Giada and Shane’s behalf anytime soon? It seems Giada really likes having a partner by her side, so fans seem to think she may be looking for remarriage again someday. And Us Weekly reports she’s also remarked on it in the past. In 2018, the publication asked her if she’d marry again, and she said, “I’m never going to say never.” The publication also asked her if she’d say yes if a man were to pop the question, and she replied with, “It depends on who the proposal is from!” It looks like we’ll have to wait and see what Giada and Shane decide on for their future.
