Who is Famous and Fighting Crime star Sandi Bogle? TV personality who started out on Gogglebox

But Sandi Bogle did just that thanks to Gogglebox, which landed her a spot in the Celebrity Big Brother 2017 house and now on new C4 series Famous and Fighting Crime. Let's get the lowdown.

Who is Sandi Bogle, how old is she and what is her background?

Sandi, 52, was born Sandy Channer in South London.

She has lived in Brixton for almost half a century and is a mum-of-four with several grandchildren.

Sofa-dwelling Sandi was unemployed when she landed her huge role on Channel 4's hottest reality TV show.

Her cousin is the supermodel Naomi Campbell, who actually featured in a charity special of her relative's show Gogglebox.

The bubbly TV fanatic and her childhood friend Sandra Martin have been on the show Gogglebox since series one in 2013.

How did she get on to Gogglebox?

Sandi and her friend of over 40 years Sandra were spotted in a pub and approached by someone connected to the show.

Four years on and Sandi clearly loves being famous as she's said: "People recognise us from the show when [Sandra and I are] together, which makes going out with each other even more exciting."

She added: "I love it. There’s enough negativity in the world, so for people to watch the show and feel happy when they see me is great."

However, Sandi left Gogglebox in 2016 and was replaced by Sandra's daughter Chanchez.

She's had to play down reports that she and Sandra fell out over the decision and has said "the door is open" for her to return.

What else has Sandi Bogle been up to?

As of February 2019, Sandi is currently starring in new Channel 4 four part series Famous and Fighting Crime that pretty much does what it says on the tin – it's famous people fighting crime on the UK's streets.

She has also appeared on other TV programmes like The Nightly Show, and released her own single called Casanova.

She was devastated when her nephew Bjorn Brown was stabbed to death aged 23 in March 2017 and begged the killer to come forward.

In 2016, she also went on Celebrity Fat Fighters with Lateysha Grace, Stevi Ritchie and Diags from Towie and lived on 400 calories a day.

Still on a quest for body confidence, she took part in the ITV summer special Lorraine's Cruise Control.

The 52-year-old also got a makeover on Channel 4's Celebrity 100% Hotter, which turned her into a blonde and replaced her favoured sequins for a classy look.

Sandi also took part in the first series of Celebs on the Farm.
