Dalton is a 24-year-old from Jamaica who has enjoyed a taste of fame before.

He comes from a huge family and has 22 brothers and sisters who grew up with him in poverty.

At the age of 16, back in 2010, he won the Jamaican equivalent of X Factor named Digicel Rising Stars.

The prize for the show was $1 million Jamaican dollars (£6,200).

After his success on the talent show he was put through education by manager Donovan Germain and in 2014, he released the single Pauper, which made it to Number One in the Jamaican dancehall charts.

He has since released three albums prior to his appearance on X Factor.

What has happened to Dalton so far on the X Factor?

The aspiring singer flew over from the Caribbean for his chance to impress the judges.

In his audition, he sang Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word by Elton John.

Dalton said he'd been preparing for the audition for seven years and described it as the most important moment of his life so far.

Not only did the singer secure four yeses, but he also got a huge hug from Ayda and Louis following his performance.

In his audition, Dalton said: “I grew up in a one-room house without electricity or running water, but it’s not a sad story. It’s how I came out of it and I’m triumphant.”

Dalton has sailed through the rounds of the X Factor.

Since then, the hopeful performer has made it through the Six Chairs Challenge and the Judges' Houses for which he sang Listen from Dreamgirls.

Louis was impressed by Dalton and said: "What was so incredible, aside from the unbelievable vocal, was the whole story you told us.

"I will never listen to that song the same way ever again."

Dalton is now getting ready to put his best performance yet as one of the three finalists in the running for a big win.
