Who are the Whisperers on The Walking Dead?

The Whisperers are a strange gang of survivors who use the skin of zombies to disguise themselves so they go unnoticed.

They consider themselves animals and don't want anything to do with humanity or civilisation as imposed by man.

The Whisperers also consider humans to be animals who tried to pretend to be something different and more elevated.

They welcome the apocalypse as a chance to restore what they believe to be the natural order of things.

The group are nomadic and never stay put int he same place for more than a few days.

They don't like outsiders and will automatically attack anyone who tries to intrude.

Sometimes they try and recruit some of the outsiders if they don't seem affiliated with a larger, more threatening group.

Their disguise of roamers flesh makes them a very dangerous opponent as they can camouflage themselves amongst their enemy.

Who is the leader Alpha?

Alpha leads a group called the Whisperers who use the flesh of the dead as a disguise.

Her second-in-command is Beta.

The baddie thinks the zombie apocalypse is how the world is supposed to evolve and it is believed she will be the downfall of character Rick Grimes who will be leaving later in the season.

US television channel AMC released the trailer of the latter half of series nine of The Walking Dead which shows Alpha as a force not to be messed with.

Leading man Andrew Lincoln recently spoke of his feelings towards the character of Alpha at New York Comic-Con, saying: “She’s scared the bejeezus out of all the crew, actually.

“Someone was doing an impersonation of a scene that she did, and even that scared me… I was like, ‘Oh my God, that’s really scary.’”
