Where are Gogglebox stars Mary and Marina? Show bosses forced to stop filming amid coronavirus threat – The Sun

GOGGLEBOX stars Mary and Marina have been forced to stop filming as show bosses do their best to protect them amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The elderly women – who are fan favourites on the Channel 4 show – are on lockdown in their homes in St Monica Trust retirement village in Westbury-on-Trym.

Despite normally being on TV every Friday night with their hilarious reviews, Mary and Marina – who are in their 90s – have been off-air this series.

Gogglebox creator Tania Alexander said producers had to make the difficult decision to stop filming with the pair so they weren't risk.

"Unfortunately, it was not possible to film with the full cast," she told The Telegraph.

"For example, we took the decision to tell Mary and Marina, who are in their 90s and live in a care home, that we didn’t want them put at any risk so we should stop filming with them altogether.

"The ladies are safe and well looked after but often tell us they dearly miss the crews and the fun they have during filming each week."

Fans have been missing the pair, with one viewer saying: "Whenever I see Mary and Marina in the opening montage it makes me sad. Miss u ladies #Gogglebox."

Another added: "Hope Mary and Marina are ok..Two hearts #Gogglebox."

Someone else said: "I do miss Mary and Marina."

The latest series finale aired on Friday after cast and crew made huge changes to ensure filming could continue in lockdown.

Jenny moved in with best friend Lee to live in his caravan so they could remain on the show.

Fans were shocked to discover it was Lee's caravan after assuming it was Jenny's.
