When Will 'The Hills' Reboot Air on MTV, and Which Original Cast Members Are Coming Back?

It’s been almost four months since MTV announced it was bringing back The Hills. Back in August, the network revealed it was working on the reboot called The Hills: New Beginnings. Since then, a bit more information about the show has trickled out. Here’s what we know so far.

In mid-October, MTV said that the new version of The Hills would air sometime in 2019. An exact premiere date hasn’t been set, but it does seem like filming is currently underway. On October 12, Stephanie Pratt shared a photo of herself and co-stars Audrina Patridge and Mischa Barton with the caption “Hanging out in #TheHills.”

More recently, Heidi Pratt and Stephanie Pratt were spotted filming in West Hollywood.

Which original cast members are coming back?

Most of the original cast of The Hills are reuniting for the new show. That includes Audrina Patridge, Heidi Pratt, Spencer Pratt, Stephanie Pratt, and Whitney Port. Justin Bobby, Brody Jenner, Frankie Delgado, and Jason Wahler are also back.

A few big names are missing from The Hills reunion, though. Lauren Conrad is reportedly “concentrating right now on her Kohl’s line and her charity work,” according to E! News, and doesn’t want to be on the show.

Kristin Cavallari has her own show, Very Cavallari, on a different network, which was recently renewed for a second season, so it’s not surprising she isn’t listed among the returning cast members. But in the past, Cavalerri has said she’d be up for revisiting The Hills.

“I’m ready! Bring it on,” she said in April, adding that she enjoyed her time on the show. “I looked at it strictly as a job. So, I was like, ‘What do you guys want me to do? I’m game. Let’s do this. Let’s have some fun.’ Basically, we had fake fights, I had a fake relationship. It was 90 percent manufactured. I still don’t think the audience knows this.”

Former cast member Lo Bosworth had a very different reaction to the prospect of getting back together with her former co-stars for a new show. “F-ck no,” she said when discussing a reunion in February. “I don’t want any association with any of those people.”

Meet the new cast members of The Hills

Several new faces will be joining The Hills reboot, including actress Mischa Barton, best-known for her role as Marissa Cooper on The O.C.

“When MTV approached me with the chance to be a part of the reality show that was inspired by The OC, it felt like the perfect opportunity for an irresistibly inviting new chapter,” she said in an Instagram post.

Actor and model Brandon Thomas Lee from Netflix’s Sierra Burgess Is a Loser will also be on the show. He’s the son of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. Brody Jenner’s wife Kaitlynn Carter is also joining the cast along with Jennifer Delgado (wife of Frankie Delgado) and Jason Wahler’s wife Ashley.
