There's a refreshing lack of nastiness on this carnival dating show, even as we catch up with the couples that don't quite connect on their Gold Coast getaway. Back in the studio, host Joel Creasey isn't holding back on the saucy innuendo, and neither are his "flirty 30" single gals. Tonight's courtship dances include some disturbing racial preferences, which Creasey handles with aplomb.

The facial hair in this dynastical drama set in early 1900s Texas is for hipster blokes to die for. So lush are the beards and so finely trimmed the statement moustaches that they threaten to upstage the main action. Not that there's any shortage of that. Encapsulated in one episode are power struggles between men, the desperate longings of women, oodles of sex and a dreamlike death scene with a twist.

EXPOSED: THE CASE OF KELI LANE

Miniseries premiere **** four stars

8.30pm, ABC

In the hands of Walkley-winner, Caro Meldrum-Hanna, the infanticide case that rocked the nation 22 years ago, begins to take on new dimensions. With no body ever found, and a web of lies spun by the convicted killer, she turns her attention to the "insular peninsula" of Manly to ask how a young pregnant woman in a swimsuit under the sporting spotlight went unnoticed. Tragic as it is, this is a riveting investigation.
