All Together Now

Seven, 7pm

Channel Seven continues its light-entertainment offensive with this underwhelming singing contest, based on an English format. The ostensible attraction is a six-storey wall housing 100 judges who literally light up and ideally start to sing and dance if they like a contestant. The singer who attracts the most support wins. Host Julia Zemiro looks uncomfortable, with the patter that flows fluidly on RocKwiz falling flat here. Representing the 100, Ronan Keating marshals the supportive assessment skills acquired during his stints as a talent show judge. Despite the flashing lights and sometimes bopping judges, the enterprise lacks excitement. DE

Rake (final)

ABC, 8.30pm

The lawyer and recently elected senator continues to create chaos and stir up trouble in Canberra, with the hi-jinx taking in a wedding mishap, a missing cat, a plumbing scandal and a childcare scam. It's not a lot stranger than what we've seen of our own government of late, but a feeling of seen-it-all-before to these antics suggests it might be a good time for the scrappy survivor to bow out. The fifth and final season hasn't been the best of Rake, but its ratbag hero and the lively community lovingly built around him will be missed. DE
